Hyde Village Striders are a very friendly club and we always enjoy meeting new runners.
Adult runners who want to try out running with the club and guests are always made very welcome! We have a wide range of groups running each training evening and they cover a range of distances. The pace of the groups usually ranges from 12+ minute miles down to 7 minute miles dependent upon terrain and distance so don't feel that you have to be fast to come along. The groups and their leaders are listed on the groups page.
Please read the details below and then book the session you want to come to via RunTogether.
When you arrive please ask to speak to one of the coaches and they will take good care of you.
Meeting Place
Please come in the main reception entrance to Astley Sp[orts Village and follow the corridor round to the right. We meet in the dining hall at the end of the corridor.
Parking
Please park at Cromwell School, adjacent to Astley (the car park is through the first gate on the right coming up Yew Tree Lane, just after the first speed bump) and then walk the short distance to Astley so that the members of Astley Sports Village don't have trouble parking. If the gate for Cromwell is closed please come in via the third gate and go left, round the side of the building to park at the rear. There is a blue rear door that takes you to the corridor.
Already running but want to try the club?
We welcome adults who are already running but new to the club to come along and run with us for free over a few weeks to see how they get on before joining.
However, if you are an adult who wants to start running we organise a beginners course two or three times a year. Full details are available on the Stride Out page.
There is no pressure, but when they want to join they download the Membership form from the Membership page of the website, fill it in and bring it along on a training evening. Once the Membership Secretary processes it they get an email with a link to pay the fees online.
