Race report 2015
Many thanks to all the runners, helpers, marshals and supporters for making the race a big success on a balmy evening down by the Tame. The new venues for parking and registration seemed to work well and we had lots of positive feedback.
The race was very competitve at the sharp end with both Gavin Hill (16:22) and Carl Hardman (16:28) putting in blistering performances. Only once before has anybody ran below 17 minutes and that was the course record holder Mohammed Abu-Rezeq who clocked 16:18 in 2013.
There were lots of mentions of the friendly and supportive marshals out on the who helped runners enjoy the race even if it was a bit tough at times.
We had a bit of a glitch with the results computer which decided to reboot part way through proceedings so we switched to manual computation which took a while and unfortunatley we made a couple of mistakes. If you see any errors in the provisional results or wish to give us feedback on any aspect of the event please let us know via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you once again to all runers supporters and volunteers.

The 2015 Race is now open for entry
Once again Hyde Village Striders presents “Stride Through The Woods” a two-lap trail race around our stomping ground, the Tame Valley. You'll probably not have time to appreciate the fine scenery as you speed along the hard packed river trail, romp over the grass and stagger through the short muddy section, but you will finish with a smile on your face!
There is 35m of ascent on each lap, with a short sharp 20m climb at one end of the loop and a steady 15m climb at the other. Other than those small climbs and a short splash through the mud it's full steam ahead on good trail.
A donation to Willow Wood Hospice will be made from any profit the event makes. Last year we donated over £100.
If you have any questions about the event please get in touch: email the race team.
The course includes uneven trail, wooded areas with tree roots, a small stream crossing, narrow paths and a few steps. Runners must take these hazards into account especially when running in a group or when deciding to overtake other runners.
The area is open to the public and part the course follows a bridleway so runners may encounter members of the public, dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Consideration must be given to other users of the area.
The middle section of the route is covered four times and is a wide trail. All runners must keep to the right when on this trail unless overtaking. Do not overtake on the bends where you may not be able to see oncoming runners!
Entries can be made online via the links at the top of the page. For postal or on the day entries the entry form is available to download here.
Entries on the day will be available if the race does not fill up. Please print an entry form, complete it and bring it with you to speed up the process on the evening.
Race numbers must be collected from Registration on the day. No SAE is required. Numbers are transferable, but please inform us at least 48hrs prior to the race. Transfer of numbers on the day will not be possible.

Thank you to all the runners and volunteers that made this year's race a great success. We hope to see some of you at the Millbrook Monster on Wed 30th July.
The ladies record was smashed by Sarah Tunstall of Kendal AC who knocked off over three minutes and came in with an impressive 18:42!
This year saw stronger competition throughout the race and many people improved their times from previous years. Very well done to all of you.
I was great to see such a good turnout from many of the local clubs and some from further afield. We also had more juniors racing this year which is excellent.
If you have any questions or wish to give us some feedback please email us email@example.com or use the contact form on the website.
