Cross country welcomes runners of any ability and is the perfect antidote to the pavemount pounding we do whilst road running and racing. Runners from all groups accross the club get together to support one another, the team spirit and sense of acheivement is second to none. Cross country builds stamina, endurance and agility and is a fantastic way to imprve your running. Spring marathon?? A cross country season under your belt will work wonders for your training. The ladies races tend to be about 8k/5m and the gents a little longer ~9.5k/6m but those can vary at different venues.
All you need to take part is a club vest and a smile. If you have trail/fell shoes they will be ideal or you may want to splash out on a set of spikes if you end up enjoying it lots. As many of the venues are a bit of a drive away and parking can be tight we will organise car shares.
